More than 150 venture capital professionals representing more than 95 funds gathered in Zurich on September 21 and 22 for the 8th annual European Energy Venture Fair (EEVF 09), the largest yet since the conference began seven years ago.

Emerald Technology Ventures founded the invitation-only networking event in 2002, with financial and organizational support from other partners and sponsors. The aim of this year's conference was to continue strengthening the VC investor network providing an opportunity to build important bridges between venture fund managers from independent firms and corporations. The agenda was packed with a number of sessions where attendees could listen to academics and industry experts in the fields of energy storage, smart grid development, and industrial biotech and in addition, they got a chance to meet fourteen up-and-coming startups seeking venture financing.
